How Secure is Online Banking?

Naturally security is a significant concern to internet users. Members “First” Community Credit Union is connected to the internet in a way that keeps all the credit union’s internal systems and member information away from prying eyes. We have used every precaution to protect your accounts. Every bit of information sent or received is encrypted, making it unreadable during transmission. We also have a firewall protecting the credit union’s host computer. In addition to the systematic precautions that we have taken to ensure information security, your Online Banking password and security question answers ensure that your are the only authorized user with access to your account information. Be sure to change your password every six months or so to ensure its integrity. Keep your password and security question answers in a secure place and don’t reveal them to anyone. No one at MFCU will ever ask for your password.

Can I transfer from my account to my spouse’s account/another members account?

You should be able to transfer among all accounts on which you are a joint owner. If an account on which you are a joint owner does not show up on the “transfer” screen, please call us and we can correct it. You can also transfer to any other member account if you have their member number and last name.

Is there a Fee to use Online Banking or Bill Pay?

There is no fee to us our Online Banking. Our Bill Pay is also free if you sign up for our e-statement option when signing up for the online banking. If you choose to opt-out of the e-statement option, there is a $5.95 charge per month to the account in which you set up to pay your bills.

How do I get a password for the Online Banking?

When you sign up for the online banking, you will create your own password. If you become locked out, contact either office and we can reset you with a temporary password, which will then allow you to change when you log-in with it.

What type of browser do I need to access the site?

It is recommended to use the latest version of your current browser. We suggest Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator.

Do I need to install any special home banking software?

No, all you need is a PC or Laptop and an internet service provider. If you currently have internet access, you will be able to access your accounts on our Internet web site.
